Jon Hassan

Jon Hassan is the Swing Solution's lead alto player and one of our most exciting soloists. John is a fine player and an outstanding section leader who has made a real difference in the band. His leadership in the sax section is one of the main reasons The Swing Solution swings as hard as it does.

Jon's been playing the sax for over 30 years and played in Europe for several years while a member of the Army. He plays all of the saxes, especially loves the baritone, as well as the flute, bassoon and, somewhat grudgingly, the clarinet.

Jon is a machinist in the `real world' and his main hobby is music. He's played in several Bay Area big bands, including A Touch of Brass, the Mike Sloane Big Band and the Vernon Brooks Latin Big Band as well as the West Valley College 8 o'clock jazz band.
